Pricing & Booking
How do I reserve you for a photo shooting?
As soon as we have decided on a date and time for your event you can pay the required deposit and you will be officially booked!
How high is the deposit? When is the remainder due?
For weddings the deposit to confirm your booking is 30 percent of the full package price (for bookings over 12 month in advance 50 percent). The remainder is due four weeks before the wedding takes place.
For portrait session the session fee / deposit is due at the time of your booking. The remainder is due one week before we meet. This way we can don’t have to think about the remainder anymore and can fully concentrate on the session.
Which form of payments do accept?
For easy payment of your deposit and package we offer a comfortable online payment option. All major credit and debit cards are accepted. If you prefer Venmo is available.
If we cancel our booking will we receive our deposit back?
In case you cancel you will not receive your deposit back. This covers any loss in the form of lost bookings and eventual cost already arisen before the actual session. However, we understand that unforeseen events can happen, so we try to work on alternatives if possible – e.g. find a new date for a session.
I have a lot of time in between the events of my wedding day; will I be charged for this time?
The prices for our packages are set for consecutive hours of photography. This includes travel time in between locations, set up time, and any down time that presents its self with in the day due to the event timeline. We will use as much of the available time to get shots of the details and surrounding areas of your event. Otherwise we will be available and ready to go when you are.
Do you travel to meet clients?
If possible we try to arrange in person meetings (especially for weddings) within reasonable limits. If it shouldn’t be possible due to scheduling or distance we love to video chat with you.
Which additional cost might occur?
Most of our packages come with the option to receive digital files, so in this case there is no additional cost after the payment of the package. If you choose pay per print packages the final cost will depend on your selection.
For weddings all outside fees, for example coordinator and venue commission, permits or any other third party cost have to be covered by the client.
Do you have Liability Insurance?
Yes we do! If your venue requires special details we are happy to provide them. Just let us know.
Photography
How do you describe your shooting style?
We love candid moments and real emotions between the wonderful people we get to photography. In our session we focus on the interactions and try to give you as much space as possible, but of course also guide you if necessary. Standing in front of the camera is not an everyday occurrence, so I want you to be as comfortable as possible.
Is your media preference film or digital?
All photos are taken and processed digitally.
What type of camera equipment do you use?
We shoot with professional Nikon equipment, including full frame cameras, prime lenses as well as external lighting. We always make sure bring backup equipment in case something should not work as expected. If you are interested in more details let us know, but we rather recommend to look at our work and see if you like the results.
Do you provide digital negatives (RAW files) after the shoot?
You will be provided with edited images only. Each picture is carefully handled and will be a representation of our work. Be sure to look at our portfolio and that our work and style are a good match for you.
What is the difference between edited photos and edited and retouched?
All final images are edited for color, saturation, exposure and sharpness ensuring that each image is on its own the best it can be. For retouched images we take things a step further by clearing up blemishes, smoothing the skin, removing as much interference from the back ground as possible i.e. that scuba diver that pops his head out of the water just as we are capturing the perfect kiss etc. Retouched images are transformed from great images into pieces of art!
Do I get all the images you take?
We go thoroughly through all the images we take during a session and will take out the obviously unusable ones in a first step. We also reduce the amount of duplicates so you can enjoy only the best of the best images. With each packages we guarantee a minimum amount of images (50 photos/hour), but in the end you will get all the images which make it into the final collection.
What rights do I have to the digital prints?
If your selected packages includes digital files you will receive reproduction rights to all your images. This gives you the right to reproduce the images for personal use, so you can use them for prints, sharing them on your social media, making canvases, etc. Commercial use is not allowed if not separately agreed on. The copyright of the images will with the photographer.
The Photo Session
Which locations do you recommend for a Portrait Session?
We do outdoor photography sessions, indoor shoots, we love to explore cities, go on hikes with you and can shoot (almost) everywhere you might come up with. The best places are where you feel most comfortable so you enjoy the session as much as possible. We love to talk about your ideas so just an email and we can get into the details.
How should we prepare for Portrait Session?
A good mood is the most important thing
Make sure you have enough time to prepare beforehand so you are not stressed, comfortable cloth fitting the season and be open to venture out. With kids it helps to bring something to drink and some little treats to make it easy for them as well. We can go through specific questions before your shoot so we can ensure you are well prepared.
What happens if we are running late or vice versa to our shoot? Will you extend the shooting time?
It is our practice to arrive early to our shoots, as I like to scope out the surroundings and get our creative mind going. If for some reason we are late we will do our best to extend the time or if the time is substantial and the shoot is unsuccessful we will refund all or part of the money. If a client is late we will do our best in the time that is remaining to get everything we need, but we don’t extend the session time.
Our portrait sessions are quite long in the time frame available. We do this so people can be relaxed and happy during the session and don’t need to be stressed about the time.
What if it is raining during an outdoor session or due to the weather there is no sunset?
In the case of rain or bad weather we will have to improvise! Sometimes that means finding shelter or finding other creative way to capture the moment. If the weather is potentially damaging to our equipment we will be restricted to areas that we can safely shoot. Bad weather is not a reasons itself to cancel a session, but if possible we’ll try our best to find alternative arrangement – e.g. change locations, wait the weather out. Please note, that there are no refunds due to weather.
Are you available to stay longer if we want to hire you for more time on the spot?
What are your rates and how do we go about this? Depending on our availability we can stay additional time. The rate is depending on the kind of event we are covering and the number of photographers on site.
After the Session
Do you offer online proofs? How do I select the images I want?
We don’t offer online proofs in the classical sense. All the images in the final gallery will be edited and available to you. Going through a high number of images can be actually quite challenging and we consider it a part of our job to make sure you get the best of the best photos in the final collection.
Do you offer online viewing?
Yes, all our packages come with an easy to access online gallery so you can view and share your images with friends and family. The gallery will be available for a minimum of one year after publication.
How long does it take until my final gallery is available for viewing?
Smaller events/portrait sessions take about 72 hrs- 1 week until it will be possible to view them online, weddings 4-8 weeks. If your package also includes prints or albums, this can take a little bit longer. We know how excited you are to see the final images, so we do our best to provide you with the final product as soon as possible.
Can I see some of my pictures right away?
Yes! For clients who would like to see a small sampling of their photos within the first few days we offer a “sneak peak” that can be viewed our Social Media pages. If you want to share your sneak peak with friends and family you can do so by sharing the post straight to your own page.
Can you just email me a few images?
A lot of work goes into the images after the actual session is done, and it sounds easier to “just send a few images” than it actually is. If possible we try to provide a sneak peek on social media, but otherwise concentrate very hard to provide you with your images in the promised time frame.
Do you backup your images? How can we be sure our images won’t get lost?
In our editing process we ensure that we have a copy of your images for 30 days. We’ll also store your images for one year, for a small fee. It's important that you make sure you store them in a safe place as well so you don’t loose them. Printing the final images is of course the best way to preserve them, but we also recommend multiple copies in save places.
What if I lose my flash drive?
In the case that your flash drive becomes damaged or lost, it can be replaced at a $50 charge. However, we highly recommend that you make backups of your images so you preserve them.
